Recipe for Creative Juices

Time to address something very near and dear to so many women out there...

Pinterest.

I do love the occasional scroll through row after row of time-consuming crafts, decadent recipes, glorious wedding decor, fashion, inspirational quotes, etc...  But I admit I've only ever put to use 1 - one! - of my 218 pins.  It is absolutely ridiculous.  Anyway, this post is really about creativity, which is something that existed long before Pinterest.

I want you to know, everyone has the gift of creativity in some facet of life.  Maybe you don't consider yourself "crafty," but you're the best at coming up with silly games to keep little kids occupied.  Maybe you can juryrig almost anything in your house to keep it working for another year, or you notice flaws in a plan and take the initiative to re-design it.  The fact is, if you have a brain, you have an imagination, and the ability to create. 

So go do something better - even if it is trying out one of your Pins - but consider brainstorming something new and awesome on your own.

...Then Pin it so we can all be inspired. :)

Well???

I like the occasional post-it note scripture verse on my mirror, but sometimes, you need something short with a good kick to it - something you can't ignore or forget.  Here's my new favorite little "motto-vation" for you people, for when at first you don't succeed...

Go Falcons!

Lastweek I went to my third football game ever - second one I've been to at the Air Force Academy.  Needless to say, I'm a Falcons fan, even if our team isn't the greatest...  Anyway, here I am with one of their beautiful mascots, Athena: 

 

 

And here's another white falcon of the musical variety...  It may not have wings, but it's pretty fly. ;9

 

 

It's still in progress, but I'm almost done.  Atleast I got past that awful stage in every artist's endeavors, where all you can do is stare and stare at your work and think 'What. The. Heck. Is. This?'  Atleast I hope most artist's experience that...  I've decided that must be what makes us kind of weird, philosophical, metaphysical individuals. 

 

Oh!  And the video I made to show you how I painted this is almost done.  I had almost as much fun making the video as I did the painting - I think you'll like it. :)
